Wartenberg wheel

This instrument was originally used in neurology. Its use in the field of sensory stimulation came later, and this tool has become a symbol of this type of play. It is ideal for sensory deprivation (e.g. blindfolded) and, where appropriate, for immobilisation (I recommend the position with the mouth wide open). When gently glided over the body, it evokes a certain combination of sensations, ranging from tickling through to arousal and even pain. If you press the tool down, this mix of sensations remains the same; you simply need to ignore the tickling. Over the years, I have tried Wartenberg wheels from various manufacturers and in different designs (including multi-row versions), and I have ultimately chosen this particular piece – which we offer at Bugshop – as my favourite.
